My prediction would be that the translation kids grow up with is the one they will react positively to as adults. So a pastor or church committee could say, "Let's give the old folks what they're comfortable with since we're never going to change their minds. But with the kids lets give them a good clear translation that's easy to read and twenty years from now that's going to be the pew Bible as well.
