Groundhog Day: Another Excuse to Travel

Feb 3, 2010 || 4:30:00 PM -- by Sasha Mohammed

There was a consensus this year when Ontario's own groundhogs, along with the famous Malverne Mel of Malverne, New York, and Punxsutawney Phil of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania agreed that winter would last another six weeks. Miraculously, at that same moment there was a consensus among the crowd too; they all agreed that they need to get out of here!

I am sure that there are many people out there who enjoy winter, just as I do, but when we picture winter we see snow and all the fun that comes with it. Skiing and snowboarding is not the same for avid goers, and tobogganing is non-existent for children. All that is left is the bitter wind that turns our nose red. So our choices are down to two: we can migrate like the birds do, to a warmer destination, or we can hope for a little snow. Whatever your decision, I wish you a fabulous February as I am off to go skating and have some hot cocoa...might as well take advantage of the ice, right?

Improving the travel experience one trip at a time!
