Paris, the City of Light, is full of rich
history, arts, fashion, food and just about everything else!
Containing priceless works by
DaVinci, Monet, and Picasso in addition to thousands of historical artifacts,
the Louvre Museum is a must-see in Paris. Afterwards, window shop at the various
fashion boutiques along Rue Saint-Honoré and Avenue des Champs-Elysées while
sampling delicious pastries and chocolates from Paris' famous
pâtisseries. Don't forget to check out the Arc de Triomphe, which honours
those who fought and died for France in the Napoleonic Wars and the French
Revolution.
Another of Paris' famous monuments is, of course,
the Eiffel Tower. Ascend the tower by stairs or by elevator and take in the view
from the city's tallest building.
Visiting in the spring is an excellent
time to enjoy over 400 parks and gardens in Paris. One of the largest in the
city is at the Luxembourg Palace and Gardens. Full of fountains and statues, the
gardens are famed for their tranquil and calm atmosphere.
At the end of the day, climb
the stairs on the Rue Foyatier up the Montmartre hill to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica
with a nice bottle of wine, and take in the Paris skyline at sunset. C'est
magnifique!
