Become a Camel. Water is the best jet lag fighter around.

Contrary to popular belief, there are no cure-alls for jet lag. But one tried and true jet lag fighter involves desert-like thinking. Become a camel and store lots of water pre-flight, and you will be amazed at just how much better you feel during the flight and once you reach your destination.
Dehydration is caused by the dry air in your aircraft. So, it's the smart traveler's job to combat this with plain and simple H2O. And water is far superior to coffee, tea, milk or fruit juice.
As for alcohol, it adds zero value in the fight against jet lag. Actually, its intoxicating effects in the rarefied atmosphere of an airliner are more enhanced than they are at ground level.
So, store up on water pre-flight. Take a water bottle in your carry-on bag, and fill it up once you have passed through customs. To combat in-flight dehydration, sip frequently and carry right on sipping until your body fully adapts to your new destination.
Water works outside the body, too. Once you land, a shower will refresh you, and kick-start your circulation and muscles. Happy travels.
